Dr. Beth Sansone Named Collierville Elementary Principal
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – Collierville Schools Superintendent Dr. Russell Dyer is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Beth Sansone as the next principal of Collierville Elementary School. Dr. Sansone, who currently serves as assistant principal at Sycamore Elementary School in Collierville, will succeed Mr. Michael Ruiz in the position. Ruiz announced in October that he had accepted the new role of Human Resources Supervisor at Germantown Municipal School District beginning in January.
"I am thrilled to introduce Dr. Sansone as the new principal of Collierville Elementary School,” said Dr. Dyer. “Her passion for education and commitment to our students will be a valuable asset to the CES community. I am excited to welcome her back to where her career in education began."
Dr. Sansone’s professional journey began in 1998 as a classroom teacher at CES, where she also served as a learning coach to novice teachers and was instrumental in the school-wide implementation of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system. She has served as an assistant principal at SES since 2014. During her time there, SES has been named a Tennessee Department of Education Reward School five times and also earned the Tennessee STEM School Designation in 2023.
Dr. Sansone graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1998. She continued her education at Union University, where she obtained her Master of Education, Education Specialist, and Doctor of Education degrees. Deeply rooted in the Collierville community, Dr. Sansone was a member of Leadership Collierville’s Class of 2011. She resides in Collierville with her husband, Michael, and has been a Collierville Schools parent and community member since 1994. She will officially assume her role as principal on January 1, 2025.
“Returning to Collierville Elementary School as principal feels like I am coming home,” mentioned Dr. Sansone. “I am honored to work alongside dedicated staff, students, and families as we build on the amazing culture already in place at CES. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone in the Little Dragon family. Once a CES Little Dragon, always a CES Little Dragon.”
