⚠️ Collierville Schools to Operate on a Two-Hour Delay on Monday, August 24

Posted Date: 08/23/26 (04:37 PM)

Dear Collierville Schools Families and Staff,

Due to ongoing impacts from this weekend's storms, Collierville Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, August 24.

While all Collierville Schools campuses have power and are prepared to open, we recognize that some roads remain blocked or partially obstructed due to storm damage. The delayed start will provide additional time for road crews to continue their work and allow our students, families, and employees to travel safely. A two-hour delayed start does not count as an inclement weather "stockpile” day because schools remain open, and students still receive the majority of their daily lessons.

School Start and End Times
Collierville High School: 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Middle Schools: 10:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Elementary Schools: 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Transportation
School buses will operate on delayed schedules and run their regular routes unless a road remains closed or blocked.

If your home is located in an area where road conditions prevent normal bus access, please consider your address a parent responsibility zone until roads are cleared and deemed safe for travel.

Meals
  • A grab-and-go breakfast will be available.
  • Lunch will be served at all schools.
Arrival Information
  • All schools will open to accept car riders and walkers 30 minutes prior to the adjusted start of the school day.
  • Y-Care will operate at elementary schools beginning at 8:30 a.m.
  • Schools will share any additional information regarding internal schedules directly with staff and families as needed.
We understand that some members of our community may still be experiencing power outages or other challenges related to the storm. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we navigate these circumstances together.

We are especially grateful to the utility crews, public works employees, first responders, and others who have worked tirelessly throughout the weekend to restore power, clear roads, and keep our community safe.

We look forward to welcoming students and staff tomorrow and appreciate everyone's efforts to make safety our top priority.

Thank you,
Collierville Schools
